Mission Action Plan 2025
MISSION ACTION PLAN (MAP) 2020-2025
MISSION
Communicating God’s love in Jesus Christ and seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit through prayer, that we may use our talents and resources to further God’s Kingdom in our parish and the wider world.
VISION
We share the vision of the Diocese of St Albans through ‘living Gods Love’ with a Vision for Growth’ by:
1. Walking with Jesus and getting to know him better as we journey on together:
2. Welcoming all, embracing the history and traditions of St Margaret’s, while still seeking new ways of being church:
3.Growing in numbers, generosity, faith and discipleship as we grow God’s Kingdom.
These last four years have been a difficult season as St Margaret’s comes to terms with sharing its clergy with Keech hospice care. However, there are many positive signs to encourage us as we work to rebuilding our church community post COVID.
THE MISSION ACTION PLAN SHOULD DEVELOP AS FOLLOWS:
Income Growth.
Working with the diocese being open to utilise its support and expertise in maximising income growth.
Development of provision for children and youth.
Continue to develop our youth club and look to re-establish a mums and tots group.
Greater community linkage with new partnership’s.
Seek new groups such as Warblers and Wobblers and the disharmony choir to partner with, using our people and resources
Social outreach through faith and fun:
To continue to develop a pattern of one off themed services that appeal to those who might not regularly attend church. These include thanksgiving services and family events. For example some recent collaborations with the local pub have begun to bear fruit. Seek new and creative ways to draw people to a life of faith.
Continuing focus on the deepening of faith and prayer life.
Following on from successful lent and Bible study groups we need to seek new ways to make faith interesting and engaging.
Welcome and buildings:
We have worked hard to make the church as attractive and welcoming as we can and we have recently undergone considerable updating. We are still working to develop the sound system (on-going) and we are always open to new ways to make the church as attractive as we can to visitors. We need to develop Wi-Fi to build on our on-line presence.
Other Priorities
Build on our (New) relationships with schools and care homes.
Build on our growing community relationships to share God’s love as widely as we can
Improved Safeguarding compliance. (New SGO in place)
Develop a wider programme of new church / fund raising events to broaden current offering.
